Cupcake Print Giveaway Udate

On my paint table you can see that my new painting is coming right along.  I've sort of painted myself into a corner with this giveaway.  The painting can't be listed on eBay until the giveaway is over because the title will be painted above the cupcake at the top of the canvas.

At this point no one has gotten the answer correct.  So, please keep trying.  You can enter my giveaway here.

Cupcake Print Giveaway! Name that cupcake painting!

Did I hear someone ask what's on my art table today?  Below is the cupcake painting I'm currently working on.  The colors may look like a design disaster, but I'm pretty calm that all will turn out well.   I will share the finished piece on my next blog post and will let you know when the painting will be listed on eBay.  Just for fun though, I thought I'd have you leave your comments letting me know what you think the title of this little painting will be.  I've already got the name in my head and I'm going to give away a free print of this design to the lucky winner.  Keep in mind that's a free PRINT, not a free painting.  If more than one person guesses the correct name of this painting, I will have a drawing to choose the winner.  You will have until Sunday at midnight April 30th to leave me your answer.  You must leave your answer in the comments here and not on Facebook.  Facebook has rules about giveaways that I didn't realize.  You can guess as many times as you wish through the 30th.  If no one gets the correct answer, I will put all the names in a pot and draw a winner.  If you share my giveaway on your blog (along with a link for the giveaway) you get another chance if you come back here leaving another comment telling me.

This lap desk is also on my paint table waiting for touch ups.  I've decided to let some of my older pieces go and will let you know when these items are for sell too.

Name that cupcake!  You could be a winner!

Rainy Day Boots & Classic Cupcakes Painting

A while back I was reading Aunt Ruthie's Sugar Pie Farmhouse blog and she mentioned her chicken wellies that she got at Gardener's Supply.  These are seconds that they are selling for 1/2 price because the chicken design is a little stretched around the foot area.   I seem to have a wellie addiction!  Who knew there were so many cute designs?
These fit even better than my red and white polka dot wellies!  I parked them right beside my umbrella stand that I painted many moons ago.  Click on the photos for a closer view.
See the two little girls in the yellow and blue rain coats and umbrellas jumping in the puddles on the umbrella stand?
Tonight I listed this new cupcake painting, "Classic Cupcakes" on eBay.
Nothing beats the flavor of cupcake classics like chocolate with chocolate chip frosting, white with buttercream frosting, and a caramel center cupcake topped with caramel frosting and a drizzle of syrup!

Wish I had more time to paint because ideas are pumping into my little brain at lightening speed.  It will just have to wait because I'll be spending this week preparing for Easter dinner and the celebration of a risen Lord~

Raspberry Chocolate Cupcake Painting & Summer Time Chalk Art

I listed this little painting last night on eBay.

Filled in the center with raspberry jam, this delicious chocolate cupcake is also topped with raspberry buttercream frosting. A juicy berry, chocolate sprinkles, and a brown and pink dotted liner take this treat over the top! Brown and pink dotted grosgrain ribbon is wrapped around the edges of the canvas and tied in a perky bow on top.

Tatertots and Jello had the cutest piece of subway art that she has a tutorial for.  I decided to use her idea on my kitchen chalkboard door.  As you can see, my husband decided to add a little to the left of my calendar.

What are you looking forward to this summer?  Can you find it on my chalkboard?

Laundry Room Makeover Continued and A Cupcake Surprise

Remember this from my Laudryroom Makeover?  Well, while I was walking through Walmart a couple of weeks ago I ran across my storage container solution for my shelves.  I had previously gathered up all my baskets to use on these shelves and didn't have enough.  I've been looking for baskets to use on the lower shelf that were all the same size and I couldn't find what I needed and the prices for at least six baskets was a lot higher than my Walmart purchase.
These red and yellow oval shaped tubs were only $4.99 each!  The cheapest baskets I could find, even 1/2 price at Michaels, were $10.00 each.  These will be much easier to wipe out and keep clean.  I hope to eventually make new liners for the baskets on the center shelf and do something to make the wires shelving look nicer.
You can view my other "Laundry Room Makeover" post here and my "Laundry Room Curtain Tutorial" here.

Last week my husband surprised me with some beautiful yummy cupcakes from Cupcake À La Mode in Kansas City, MO.   I have never had a cupcake from a cupcake shop before, which may sound strange since I've been painting cupcakes for quite some time. My husband was in the Plaza area and saw this shop and decided to surprise me.  I got so excited that I cut through the seal before I got to take a picture!

This one was my favorite!
According to their description this one is:
ChocoLatte
Chocolate cupcake topped with mocha java buttercream icing and a swirl of french vanilla buttercream icing, a sprinkling of grated semi-sweet chocolate and a chocolate covered espresso bean on top.

The last one I ate was:
Marshmallow Fondue
Chocolate cupcake topped with a layer of smooth, semi-sweet chocolate, a swirl of marshmallow creme icing, a sprinkling of graham cracker crumbs and a gourmet chocolate covered graham cracker on top.

I was nice and let my husband have this one:
After Dinner Mint
Chocolate cupcake topped with white chocolate peppermint buttercream icing and covered in finely grated semi-sweet chocolate.  He let me taste it.

and this beauty is:
Bella Nutella
Chocolate cupcake topped with a layer of creamy Nutella, a swirl of chocolate hazelnut buttercream and a Rocher chocolate covered hazelnut truffle & chocolate hazelnut pirrouhette cookie on top.

I must have gained several pounds by this point!
It was well worth it I must say!
Have you ever been lucky enough to visit a "Cupcake Shop"?

Spring Fling Cupcake Original Painting

Today I finished this little 6" x 6" painting and listed it on eBay.
To view the auction click on the above title.  You can click on the photos for a closer view.

Spring has arrived, so have yourself a fling and splurge on this beautiful lemon blueberry cupcake topped with creamy aqua buttercream frosting piled high and dressed in a floral cupcake liner. A pink and brown striped grosgrain ribbon wraps around the edges of the canvas and is tied in a bow at the top.

My sweet hubby brought something home for me today and I'll share it with you next time!

New Friendship Folk Art Painting

I haven't worked on very many folk art scenes in quite a while.  It was fun to think of the story in my head as I painted this one.  It's up for auction on eBay.

Long time neighbors, Virginia and Ethyl, share a passion for the Lord, family, red roses, bright colors, vintage linens, and a clothesline between their two cottages. Saturday mornings they head out bright and early looking for vintage finds at yard sales, flea markets, and auctions. This week they were lucky enough to find four lovely table cloths that they quickly washed and hung up to dry when they arrived home. There is nothing like the scent of freshly laundered linens that have dried in a gentle breeze outside. Their friendship has stood the test of time and loads of laundry on the clothesline!

I'll be back to painting cupcakes tomorrow!  I also have something new to share soon in my laundry room.
