I haven't worked on very many folk art scenes in quite a while. It was fun to think of the story in my head as I painted this one. It's up for auction on eBay.
Long time neighbors, Virginia and Ethyl, share a passion for the Lord, family, red roses, bright colors, vintage linens, and a clothesline between their two cottages. Saturday mornings they head out bright and early looking for vintage finds at yard sales, flea markets, and auctions. This week they were lucky enough to find four lovely table cloths that they quickly washed and hung up to dry when they arrived home. There is nothing like the scent of freshly laundered linens that have dried in a gentle breeze outside. Their friendship has stood the test of time and loads of laundry on the clothesline!
I'll be back to painting cupcakes tomorrow! I also have something new to share soon in my laundry room.
So cute! How are they going to divide the linens or is it a share as you go kind of relationship? Love these stories of yours...

Omigosh! So cute...love the wrap around too.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to stop in and say that I visit your blog regularly and keep tabs on you for when I want to commission my sweet painting from you. I probably would have by now, but I'm terribly indecisive. :)
Love the painting, Cathie, and a sweet story to go with it!
