Peanut Butter Cupcake Painting and Joplin, MO

My heart breaks for our neighbors to the south who lost so much during the devastating tornado that hit their town this past Sunday destroying their homes, businesses, hospitals, as well as lives of loved ones.
I listed this painting on eBay today and 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated through our church or one of the churches in Joplin that have worked tirelessly to help these victims.

This extravagant dessert starts with a dark chocolate cupcake piled high with peanut butter frosting, hot fudge with sprinkles, and a frosted peanut butter cup topped with a juicy red cherry. This is truly a dessert dream come true!

My Bloomin' Garden and a New Cupcake Painting

I was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen.  Everyday I would walk outside to see if that first tiny bud on any plant whatsoever in my garden was going to be the first brave soul to burst forth and share it's beauty.  Our weather in the Midwest has been up and down and in and out.  It's the strangest spring I can remember in a long time.

I see all over the blogging world that peonies have come alive in gorgeous hues with layers upon layers of petals and mine are just now beginning to bloom.

I was surprised to see the first of my roses on this thornless Zephirine Drouhin climber as it winds it's way through my gazebo. Soon their sweet aroma will fill the air and "hopefully" I'll be able to sit here surrounded by their pink loveliness.

In honor of my bloomin' garden, I was inspired to paint "Daisy Cakes", my newest addition to my eBay auctions.

Fresh as a summer breeze, this little yellow cupcake is topped with a pretty daisy and tiny white candies. A blue and brown polka dot ribbon is wrapped around the edges of the canvas and ties in a bow at the top.

Rain is in the forecast for the next 6 days and I'm afraid if I don't get outside soon and out of the kitchen, my hips will be bloomin' instead of my garden!

Here's to calorie free pieces of dessert yumminess!

Bee Sweet Cupcake Painting & Music Room Mural

I added this little painting to my eBay auctions last night.
I've had two of these large bees flying all over my deck trying to get in the house and they gave me this cupcake idea.

This cute little bee knows what's sweet and delicious when he sees it. Landing atop this lovely cupcake piped with aqua frosting, the "sweet" scent has brought a smile to his little face. Black and white checked ribbon is wrapped around the edges of the canvas and tied in a perky bow on top.

I came across this photo and wasn't sure if I had shared this with my readers.  I did this mural in a local home a few years ago.  The homeowner wanted me to paint this banner in her music room.

It was fun to paint, but I'm not as good on ladders as I used to be!
Needless to say I don't do this anymore.

Ladybug Cupcake Original Painting

Today I finished this little Lady Bug Cupcake painting and listed it on eBay.  My daughter, Amber gave me gifts for Mother's Day with a 50's kitchen theme.  She made the brightly colored dish cloths to work in the new design for my kitchen.  The ramekins and the little retro measuring cups were the finishing touch to her theme. I got the little bowls when my daughter and I went to Anthropology this weekend.  I wanted a red one too, but the only red bowl they had left was chipped.

A ladybug proudly sits on top of this delicious yellow cupcake piped with creamy white frosting. Red and white dotted grosgrain ribbon is wrapped around the edges of the canvas and tied in a perky bow on top.

How was your Mother's Day?

Orangeade Cupcake Painting

It's finished and the lucky winner is Elizabeth from Heart is Where the Home is
Several of you came close to the correct title "Orangeade".
Orange Dreamsicle, Orange Cream Cupcake, Cranberry Orange Cupcake, and Orange Crush are just a few of the titles that came the close to getting the prize.  I ended up pulling the name out of basket to get the winner.
A tempting delight made from fresh squeezed Florida oranges is displayed on a colorful cupcake stand. These sunny retro colors are sure to brighten any kitchen!

This painting is scheduled to be listed on eBay this evening if you are interested!
