I painted this scene several years ago on a very tiny, tiny piece of wood. I wanted to be able to provide prints of this scene, so I painted it once again today and listed it on eBay:
Leaves gently drift floating and piling upon the ground creating a colorful palette of autumn beauty. Faith Country Church is celebrating Thanksgiving and will enjoy a hearty meal after the service with friends and family. Everyone knows there is nothing better to eat than a potluck dinner including Thelma's homemade pumpkin pies!
Have you planned your Thanksgiving dinner yet? After burning our dinner last night, I hope I do a better job for our company. I've come to realize that I can no longer multi-task.

What a pretty painting to enjoy for the week ahead. I haven't planned my meal yet...but it's time! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThis is a delightful painting Catherine, right down to the ribbon tied around the top.
ReplyDeleteMy husband cooks each year for turkey day so luckily, he gets to make all the plans, I just enjoy the food and help clean up.
Have a lovely holiday.

If I didn't have my timer, Cathie, I'd be sunk. Next thing is to remember to punch the button that sets the timer going.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet painting and a lovely story about pot luck suppers.
Beautiful painting, Cathie. I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteMy mother-in-law is cooking this Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to enjoying the meal without all the work and stress!
Hugs,
Donna
Such a lovely and warm painting to cozy up to on a cold autumnal evening. I really love your style, Catherine. So evocative of times past...to a gentler and sweeter time. That's not to say that we can't have that same feeling right here, in the present-day. And we can - simply by taking in all the warmth that this painting radiates in bucketfuls (of autumn leaves). Thanks for sharing this one with us.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely painting. This reminds me of the home improvement that I need to get working on! Thanks for sharing.
